Charles Garrison will remain on the nine-member Jacksonville Planning Commission after the Jacksonville City Council approved his reappointment March 25.

Council voted 17-0 to approve Mayor Donna Deegan’s reappointment of Garrison to fill the seat previously held by Jack Meeks, who recently resigned. The term is set to expire in September 2026.

Council members Reggie Gaffney Jr. and Jimmy Peluso were not present.

Garrison was appointed to the Planning Commission in September 2023 for a partial term, filling the seat previously held by Jordan Elsbury. He served as chair of the commission for a year beginning in late 2023.

Garrison is a land entitlement manager with Century Communities and is a previous City Council candidate. He has served as a member of the Environmental Protection Board, the Changing Homelessness board and the Jacksonville Housing and Community Development Commission.
