Nara Revolving Sushi Bar plans to open a restaurant in Ponte Vedra Beach.
St. Johns County issued a permit March 6 to build-out a 4,203-square-foot space at 10850 U.S. 1 at the Shoppes of Valley Ridge. The project cost is $185,733.
The restaurant concept, common in Japan, allows diners to sit at a counter and pluck sushi plates traveling by in a continuous loop on a conveyor belt.
It is the first Florida location for Nara Revolving Sushi Bar of Pooler, Georgia, a suburb of Savannah.
Orlando-based Green Logic LLC is the contractor.
According to Narasushibar.com, “We offer a unique, modern take on sushi dining with a revolving sushi bar that brings fresh, delicious selections straight to your table. Our menu features a wide variety of sushi, sashimi, and Japanese-inspired dishes crafted with the finest ingredients to ensure quality and taste in every bite.”
Nara’s Georgia location is open 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday-Friday; noon to 10 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.
“At Nara Revolving Sushi, we aim to make your meal both enjoyable and interactive. Whether you’re a sushi enthusiast or a first-timer, our rotating sushi conveyor offers something for everyone,” according to Narasushibar.com.
The website says its signature rolls include its SpongeBob Roll with salmon, avocado and cucumber; the Zooptopia Roll with spicy crab, cream cheese and shrimp tempura with eel sauce; and the Pikachu Roll with shrimp tempura, cream cheese and mango.
It also serves more traditional sushi rolls and sashimi, soups and ramen dishes.
Other tenants planned at the Shoppes of Valley Ridge include Dank Burrito, Tillman’s Meats & Country Store and Pizza Hut.
