A year after being damaged by fire, the closed Hardee’s along Merrill Road, east of the Southside Connector in Arlington, is in review for repairs.
The city is reviewing a permit application for the renovation of the 3,426-square-foot building at 9111 Merrill Road at an estimated project cost of $755,210.
Plans indicate seating for 78 people and a drive-thru.
No contractor is listed. Doherty Sommers Architects Engineers Inc. of Jacksonville Beach is the architect.
Hardee’s Restaurants LLC of Franklin, Tennessee, owns the structure, shown in property records as 3,642 square feet, built on almost 1.2 acres in 1992.
The permit project description says the building is being remodeled after it sustained fire damage from a roof replacement project during summer 2024. ActionNewsJax.com reported April 27 that fire broke out early that morning, without injuries.
A June 2024 permit application for interior demolition and for demolition of the fire-damaged roof trusses was voided March 6.
That means the permit was discontinued by the applicant before the permit was approved or issued.
