New York-based Veterinary Emergency Group says it will open Jan. 30 in the Town Center area.
The clinic is at 4507 Town Center Parkway in St. John’s Town Center North near Total Wine & More. Its building previously was an Applebee’s and then a 145°F Seafood Boil restaurant.
VEG said it will have a ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m. and be open 24/7, including holidays.
VEG offers emergency care including surgeries, ultrasounds, X-rays and more.
“When a pet parent walks into VEG Jacksonville, they will immediately feel they have finally found a place that will provide their family and pet the best emergency veterinary experience that exists,” said Dr. David Bessler, VEG founder and CEO, in a news release.
“Upon entering VEG Jacksonville, pet parents will feel a sigh of relief and comfort, as they are greeted with a friendly smile, empathetic attitude, and luxury comforts for them, and their pet.”
VEG said when pet owners call, they speak immediately with a licensed veterinarian. Triage will begin as soon as they walk in the door, even before filling out paperwork. Owners will be able to stay with their pets through all stages of treatment, including surgery and overnight hospitalization.
Established in 2014, VEG says it has more than 90 hospitals nationwide.
The Jacksonville VEG is the eighth in Florida for the chain, following Tampa, South Tampa, Miami, Boynton Beach, Clearwater, Fort Lauderdale and Winter Park.
