Months after it drafted its final pints, the Kings Head Pub property sold Jan. 22 for $1.728 million.

The St. Augustine restaurant and bar at 6460 U.S. 1 N. closed Sept. 15 after 32 years.

The buyer of the 0.98-acre site is First Pub LLC, which shares a Jacksonville address with Safepoint Occupational Health Services. First Pub LLC is managed by Sean M. Hassan, who state records show is the president of Safepoint.

Pub owner Ann Dyke, though Kings Head British Pub Inc., was the seller.

First Pub LLC then took out a $1.428 million mortgage with Kings Head British Pub Inc.

“It’s with mixed emotions that we are closing the Pub, at 5.00pm on Sunday, 15th September,” the pub said in a Sept. 13 Facebook post.

“This journey has been one of passion, dedication and countless cherished memories, and we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude. To our beloved patrons: Your unwavering support, and loyalty have been the heart of our restaurant.  Every visit, every meal shared, and every smile exchanged has meant the world to us.  We have been honoured to be a part of your lives and celebrations over the years.”

Following its closure, the pub began auctioning its properties, including a red British phone booth and gave away a double-decker bus, which was hauled away by Craig Smith, owner of Alhambra Theatre & Dining.

“Mr Craig Smith is responsible for organising the removal but the amazing Marshall and his team were able to actually persuade the bus onto their low loader and slowly make their way to a new location,” the pub posted Jan. 16.
