The Jacksonville Bar Association Young Lawyers Section’s annual Chili Cook-off is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Riverside Arts Market.
Teams from law firms will prepare their best chili recipes and compete for prizes.
A panel of judges will select the winners for Best Overall Chili, Spiciest Chili, Meatiest Chili, Most Original Recipe, Team Spirit, Best Fixins and Best Cornbread.
The public is invited to sample all the entries and then vote for the Crowd Favorite Award.
Proceeds from team registrations and sponsorships will benefit Becoming Collegiate Academy and its mission to empower K-5 students with a solid foundation for the future.
Becomingschools.org says the learning experience at the public charter school in North Jacksonville mirrors the experience of Historically Black Colleges and Universities to provide the environment needed for students to develop and affirm their cultural and academic identities.
