With Duval County under a Winter Storm Warning, most government agencies are closing Jan. 22.
Freezing rain and a wintry mix of precipitation are forecast to begin after 7 p.m. Jan. 21 and into early Jan. 22. Icy conditions could last until noon, according to the National Weather Service.
Here is what is closed on Jan. 22 or earlier:
City government offices: The Emergency Operations Center is partially activated. All city offices will be closed. Essential personnel will report for duty before conditions deteriorate, and nonessential personnel will stay home on administrative leave. City employees can call (904) 630-CITY for updates.
Jacksonville International Airport: The airport will close about 8 p.m. Jan. 21. The airport is anticipated to reopen at noon Jan 22. Travelers are encouraged to check flight status with their airlines for the most up-to-date information about their itineraries and for rebooking options.
City Council: Committee meetings scheduled for Jan. 22. will be rescheduled for Jan. 23.
Beaches: Currently, offices for the Beaches municipalities are expected to remain open. They will continue to monitor weather conditions.
Baldwin: The Town Hall will be closed. The Baldwin Senior Center will be closed for the rest of the week. Anyone needing assistance may call 904-630-CITY or 904-635-5955 for a public works-related emergency.
4th Circuit Court: The First Appearance Court for the 4th Circuit will remain open in Duval, Clay, and Nassau counties Jan. 22. Otherwise, offices will be closed, and only essential personnel will report for duty.
State Attorney: The State Attorney’s Office for Duval, Clay and Nassau counties will be closed, except for First Appearance. There will be no Zoom hearings Jan. 22.
Property Appraiser’s Office: Closed.
Tax Collector’s Office: Closed.
Schools: Duval Public Schools will be closed.
Trash pickup: The landfill will be closed. Trash pickups scheduled for Jan. 22 will be rescheduled for Jan. 25.
