Island Donuts announced Jan. 16 it is closing its store in Atlantic Beach.
The shop is at 363 Atlantic Blvd. in the Shoppes of Northshore. The center includes Le Petit Paris restaurant and Peterbrooke Chocolatier.
The final day for the location, which opened in 2022, is Jan. 26. The shop is open 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. and closed Tuesday.
“To our loyal Island Donuts customers, It is with mixed emotions that we announce the upcoming closure of Island Donuts, Atlantic Beach,” the company said in a message posted on its website and on social media.
“Serving our community has been one of our greatest joys and we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your incredible loyalty and support. You are more than customers—you’ve become part of our extended family, and we will deeply miss the moments we’ve shared with you.”
Island Donuts hinted it could reopen in a new space.
“While we bid farewell to this location, we are hopeful for a new space in the future to continue serving you.”
Atlantic Beach is the second location for Island Donuts. Its first shop is at 400 A1A Beach Blvd. in St. Augustine.
Islanddonut.com said the shop was founded when two cousins “realized St. Augustine Beach was missing a good old donut shop. “
“That’s how Island Donuts was formed. It was a lifelong passion for two cousins who have a love for donuts.”
It says Island Donuts is owned and operated by two local families.
Island Donuts serves yeast and cake doughnuts, made-to-order breakfast sandwiches, bagels, croissants and coffee and other drinks.
