Work continues on The Fresh Market’s Ponte Vedra Beach wine and spirits store.
The grocery anchors the Corridors at Ponte Vedra shopping center at 840 Florida A1A N.
St. Johns County issued a permit Jan. 14 for the grocer to continue renovations for the adjacent liquor store that will offer full-service coffee and alcoholic beverage sales.
At build-out, the store will feature a seven product aisles and a bar with seven seats. Plans show two tables with banquette seating. It replaces the closed discount home goods retailer Tuesday Morning.
The project cost for the renovations is $50,000.
St. Johns County approved plans Aug. 7 for The Fresh Market to build The Fresh Market Spirits & Wine and a coffee bar next to its Ponte Vedra Beach grocery store.
The 8,029-square-foot liquor store will replace Tuesday Morning. The original project cost to build-out was $1.5 million. It will be located at 840 Florida A1A N., Suite 210.
The St. Johns County Planning and Zoning Agency voted 5-1 on April 18 to approve a minor modification to the store’s planned unit development. The modification allows alcohol sales 35 feet from The Bolles Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus at 200 ATP Tour Blvd.
As part of the approval, the liquor store must maintain the same operating hours as the grocery store, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Other stores in the Corridors at Ponte Vedra include R&R Cleaners, AAA, Rita’s Italian Ice, Zulu Surf Company, Elite Nails, Tanning & Day Spa, and Dollar Tree.
The center is in the Palm Valley Overlay District.
The Fresh Market operates 159 stores in 22 states, according to its website. There are three locations in Jacksonville, one in Fleming Island and one in Ponte Vedra Beach.
