Marriott International’s SpringHill Suites is planning its first St. Johns County location in St. Augustine.
The St. Johns River Water Management District is reviewing an application on behalf of property owners Vista Hotel IV Inc., based in St. Augustine. The company’s mailing address is 32 Avenida Menendez where the Hilton St. Augustine Historic Bayfront Hotel operates.
The proposed site is at North Ponce de Leon Boulevard and West San Carlos Avenue east of the San Sebastian River, where Vista Hotel IV Inc. owns three neighboring properties. They are 1800 and 1860 N. Ponce De Leon Blvd. and 7 San Carlos Ave.
There are buildings on two of the properties and one has used car dealership, All Florida Auto Exchange.
The hotel site is about 1.7 acres. Site plans show 83 parking spaces. Details about the hotel, including its square footage and room count, have not been determined.
