The West Augustine Health and Wellness Center is permitted to build at 100 N. Brevard St. in St. Augustine at a project cost of $6 million.
St. Johns County issued a building permit for the center Jan. 9.
The site at West King Street is about 1.3 miles west of Ponce De Leon Boulevard.
The two-story, 13,500-square-foot building is expected to open in October 2025, according to the county.
Site plans show a covered entrance and 41 parking spaces.
A ceremonial groundbreaking for the center took place Sept. 26.
St. Augustine-based Gulfstream Design Group LLC is the civil engineer.
According to the West Augustine Historical Community Development Corporation, which sought funding for the facility, services will be provided by Flagler Health+ hospital, YMCA of Florida’s First Coast, EPIC Behavioral Healthcare and additional tenants.
“This is a demonstration and manifestation of what we can do when we come together ... to meet the fundamental needs of our community,” St. Johns County Administrator Joy Andrews said at the groundbreaking.
