The Jacksonville Federal Court Bar Association will have its annual State of the District luncheon featuring Chief Judge of the Middle District of Florida Marcia Morales Howard on Jan. 28 at the Bryan Simpson U.S. Courthouse.
Howard’s report will include a look at the past, present and future of the federal court.
Howard will discuss the present state of the district, including the challenges it faces and the ways the court is working to address those challenges.
Also on the agenda, U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Jacob Brown, chair of the Bench Bar Fund History Subcommittee, will explain the ways the court is working to preserve its history.
His presentation will feature a brief oral history on the late U.S. District Judge Howell W. Melton Sr., given by Brown’s former intern, Emma Gaul.
