Plans are moving forward for Desi Pantry, an Indian market at The Forum at Greenbriar shopping center in St. Augustine.

St. Johns County issued a sign permit Dec. 31 to Green Cove Springs-based Heritage Signs Inc. at a project cost of about $8,000.

The Forum at Greenbriar is at 104 Ashourian Ave. at southeast St. Johns Parkway and Old County Road 210.

An Indian market and restaurant are in the preliminary stages in The Forum at Greenbriar shopping center.

Desi Pantry will occupy 4,036 square feet across units 109 to 111. It is not a chain, according to proprietor Jay Madhavaram.

A 2,257-square-foot restaurant, Chicha’s Cafe in Unit 113, also is planned, but not permitted.

The 81,000-square-foot shopping center includes a 57,000-square-foot office and retail building, as well as an Atlantic Self Storage.

Desi Pantry is planned in the St. Augustine shopping center The Forum at Greenbriar at 104 Ashourian Ave.

Other tenants at The Forum include the restaurant Zen & Ginger, Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery, Pet Supplies Plus and Brooks Rehabilitation.

Jacksonville-based Ash Properties, through Forum At Greenbriar LLC, is the landlord and developer of The Forum.
