The Gorjana women’s jewelry store is building-out a storefront in St. Johns Town Center now that the city issued a permit Jan. 2 at a project cost of $$275,000.

Hardesty + Associates Inc. of Costa Mesa, California, and ACS Architectural Construction Services Inc. of Brookfield, Wisconsin, are the construction team for the almost 1,200-square-foot space at 4712 River City Drive, Unit 119, between the Chico’s clothing retailer and the Vow’d wedding and bridesmaid dress location.

Simon Property Group is the landlord.

Gorjana is taking the space where the Everything But Water women’s resort wear shop has closed. The St. Johns Town Center store directory no longer lists Everything But Water and says Gorjana is coming soon.

Laguna Beach, California-based Gorjana, pronounced “gor-yana,” has 92 stores in 25 states and the District of Columbia. The highest concentration is 28 in California.

The Gorjana store in St. Johns Town Center will be between the Chico’s clothing retailer and the Vow’d wedding and bridesmaid dress location.

It has five stores in Florida with two in Miami and one each in Boca Raton, Tampa and coming soon in Fort Lauderdale. Jacksonville is not listed.

Gorjana sells necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, charms and accessories.

Gorjana.com shows that among its best-sellers, the Parker necklace is $70 and the bracelet $68.

Prices for best-sellers online range from $35 for Alphabet Helium Parker Charms to $445 for a Diamond Alphabet Necklace.

Gorjana.com says in 2004, Gorjana and Jason Reidel founded the brand on their apartment floor in Laguna Beach.

“During their first year, the couple hit the road with samples in tow and drove a collective 50,000 miles to sell the first collection,” it says.

“They fulfilled initial orders from their apartment floor, and worked the national trade show circuit as a team of two.”

In 2007, they opened a studio in Laguna Canyon, which eventually housed its fulfillment space and growing team.

In 2016, they opened a retail store about a mile from the studio in downtown Laguna.

In 2017, they opened a store in New York and debuted the best-selling Parker Necklace in 2018.

From 2019-21, they developed and expanded their first fine jewelry collection, comprising diamonds, 14-karat gold, sapphires, turquoise, opals, topaz and other gemstones.

They opened the 50th store in 2023.
