The Jacksonville Bar Association board of governors selected Adam Edgecombe, a partner at Cobb & Gonzalez, to be the JBA’s new representative on the American Bar Association House of Delegates.
He succeeds Alan Pickert, a partner at Terrell Hogan who was the local representative for the past six years.
The ABA House of Delegates is the policy-making body of the association. It meets twice each year, at ABA annual and midyear meetings.
Edgecombe said he is looking forward to taking over the position and “getting up to speed” on the issues that are most pressing for the ABA and the JBA membership to be an effective representative for the local association at the national level.
Edgecombe grew up in Jackonville and graduated from The Bolles School.
He received undergraduate and graduate degrees from The University of Florida and his J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2009.
Edgecombe’s practice focuses on commercial and business litigation, with a focus on construction law, real estate law and business law.
He and his fellow delegates will convene Jan. 29-Feb. 3 for the midyear meeting in Phoenix, Arizona.
