Enovative Technologies Inc. of Jacksonville is the agent. Codes-ABC Inc. is handling code compliance. Domo Architecture of New York City is the architect.
Founded in Barcelona in 1984, Mango has been expanding in the U.S.
It has at least seven Florida stores comprising five in Miami and one each in Orlando and Boca Raton. Most focus on Mango women’s clothing with one in Miami also carrying men’s apparel. Mango also sells teen and kids clothing and home decor.
Jacksonville plans indicate the store will carry women’s, men’s and kids’ clothing.
U.S. growth plans
Trade publication ChainStoreAge.com reported Feb. 19 that Mango is moving forward with its U.S. growth, opening stores in new markets as well as expanding its presence in existing ones.
It said the Barcelona-based global fashion retailer expects to open 20 stores in 2025, for a total of 65 U.S. locations.
“Growth will focus on the Sun Belt and the Northeast regions of the country,” it said, including entry into Washington, Illinois and Nevada.
Mango also plans to open for the first time in Arizona, Connecticut, Ohio, Oregon and Louisiana. In addition, the company will increase its presence in California and Texas with a store in Houston Galleria.
In 2024, the brand entered Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Washington D.C.
ChainStoreAge.com said the company is expanding its presence in New York City, with plans to open a 13,000-square-foot store on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, near Lincoln Center.
That will be Mango’s fourth Manhattan location, joining stores on Fifth Avenue, Broadway in SoHo and at Hudson Yards. The Upper West Side location will feature products from the brand’s women’s, men’s and kids’ collections.
Main markets
The trade site said the U.S. is one of Mango’s five main markets and its primary online market.
By 2026, the company expects the country to become one of the group’s three main markets in terms of revenue and sales.
As part of its expansion, Mango opened its second U.S. off-site logistics center, outside of Los Angeles. The company also launched an omnichannel loyalty program, called Mango Likes You, in the U.S.
The retail trade site said that between 2024 and 2025, Mango will invest more than $70 million in the U.S. in new stores only.
It also expects to double its workforce to more than 1,200 employees across the U.S. by 2025.
Mango operates more than 2,700 stores worldwide.
MangoFashionGroup.com says that as one of Europe’s leading fashion brands, it has been strengthening its presence in the U.S.
It said the stores will feature the Mediterranean-inspired store concept, NewMed, “which showcases the brand’s spirit and freshness.”
“Sustainability and architectural integration are key in this new design, which conceives the Mango store as a Mediterranean home with different rooms with a predominance of warm tones and neutral colors, combined with traditional, handcrafted, sustainable, and natural materials, such as ceramic, tuff, wood, marble, esparto grass and leather.”
The website said Mango has been present in the U.S. since 2006. In late 2017 it refurbished its SoHo store and with an agreement with Macy’s in 2019 to accelerate the firm’s online growth in the country.
Mango women’s dresses at shop.mango.com Feb. 25 showed regular prices from $49.99 to $500, with many under $100. Sale prices started at $17.99.
