Smoothie King is planning a drive-thru-only location in Ponte Vedra.
The proposed site is at the split of Palm Valley Road and Florida A1A, north of a Walgreens at 860 Florida A1A N., where a drive-thru-only Chase Bank operated.
It would be the chain’s third store in St. Johns County.
Smoothie King offers smoothies, juices, bowls and snacks. Plans show a drive-thru building of about 770 square feet with shared parking with the drugstore.
The Ponte Vedra-Palm Valley Architectural Review Committee is scheduled to review the project Feb. 26.
The St. Johns County Planning and Zoning Agency recommended unanimous approval of the project Feb. 6.
New Engineering Services of St. Augustine is the civil engineer.
Other county Smoothie King locations are at 550 Durbin Pavilion Drive, Suite G107, in Saint Johns, and 1835 U.S. 1, Suite 113, in St. Augustine.
According to DataHero.com, there were 742 Smoothie King stores in the U.S. as of May 2024. Texas has the most locations, with 136 stores, about 18% of all locations. The site says there are 77 in Florida.
