Westside is gaining a Zaxbys drive-thru/takeout-only restaurant and a 7 Brew coffee kiosk across from one another along 103rd Street, between Interstate 295 and Blanding Boulevard.
The city has been reviewing civil engineering plans for Zaxbys at 6713 103rd St. and construction plans for 7Brew at 6730 103rd St.
Zaxbys is on the north and 7Brew Drive Thru Coffee on the south.
Jacksonville-based Jasz Group Inc. is the developer of the Zaxbys. Goodson, Bergen and Associates is the civil engineer.
The 1,705-square-foot Zaxby’s with a double drive-thru is planned on 1.12 acres that currently is an asphalt parking lot owned by Jacksonville Family Center LLC.
The city approved a zoning administrative deviation to reduce the number of off-street parking spaces and other elements, including the number of trees.
Zaxbys has at least 22 locations in Northeast Florida.
The chain serves chicken fingers, salads, wings and signature sauces.
It opened its first drive-thru/takeout-only location in Jacksonville in November.
Atlanta-based Zaxbys announced Nov. 18, 2024, that the 9031 New Kings Road location, owned and operated by Cash Jasz Inc., will serve customers through drive-thru and takeout orders only.
The 2,004-square-foot restaurant included a drive-thru for expedited service, as well as a walk-up window for customers to place takeout orders.
Zaxbys said the location was the next in its series of to-go-only concepts, “catering to the heightened consumer demand for food-to-go, which is expected to increase in the coming years.” It offers mobile ordering.
Cash Jasz and Jasz Group are separately owned.
For 7 Brew, the city is reviewing a building-permit application for it to clear the 0.65-acre site and build a 541-square-foot kiosk at 6730 103rd St.
It approved a site-work permit Feb. 24 at a project cost of $750,000.
Commercial real estate investor PEG Investments LLC of Tulsa, Oklahoma, is listed as the property owner. CEI Engineering Associates Inc. is the civil engineer. Duval County property records list the property owner has been 103rd Car Wash A LLC.
The 7 Brew chain, based in Fayetteville, Arkansas, has one location in Jacksonville. The 3264 Gerona Drive E. drive-thru is at northeast Beach and Hodges boulevards in the Beach Haven area.
It serves coffee drinks, energy drinks, teas, lemonade, smoothies and shakes.
