Nearly nine months after it was permitted to build the shell of a coffee shop in the Treaty Oaks community in St. Johns County, Starbucks Coffee Co. can move forward with interior construction.
It will be the coffee chain’s 15th location in St. Johns County.
The county issued a permit Feb. 20 to build-out the store at a project cost of $800,000.
The shop is off Florida 207, southwest of the intersection with Sembler Drive. It is northeast of Interstate 95.
Elfrink Custom Construction of Oviedo is the contractor for the interior build-out.
The shell construction cost was estimated at $978,000 on June 24. Jacksonville-based CCS Construction was the contractor.
Tampa-based real estate firm Sembler owns the property through GB St. Augustine LLC. It also owns about 22 acres adjacent to the Starbucks where it developed Treaty Oaks Marketplace, which is anchored by a Publix.
