AdventHealth is seeking a building permit for a 12-bed freestanding emergency room along Florida 207 in St. Johns County, about five months after announcing plans for the facility.
The health care provider submitted the application to the county Feb. 20.
The facility will be along Florida 207, southwest of the intersection with Wildwood Drive. It is about 1.6 miles northeast of Interstate 95.
The site plan shows a 13,657-square-foot facility with 44 parking spaces on 4.3 developed acres. The property comprises 10.75 acres.
The hospital bought the land in August for $5.7 million.
Kissimmee-based KP Franklin provided the survey. Catalyst Design Group of Nashville, Tennessee, is the engineer.
In a September release, AdventHealth said construction on the facility is expected to begin in 2025 and be completed by early 2026.
The county’s Development Review Committee is scheduled to discuss the ER plans at its March 12 meeting.
AdventHealth, based in Altamonte Springs, is a national faith-based health care company with more than 50 hospitals in about a dozen states. It has had a presence in Flagler County for 20 years, investing more than $200 million in infrastructure.
The ER project is among the latest in AdventHealth’s St. Johns County expansion. The not-for-profit purchased portions of three St. Johns County properties in World Commerce Center on Feb. 5 for $13.14 million. The deed did not specify the acreage or exact location.
The three parcels are at the south end of World Commerce Center, near the Parkway Village at St. Johns shopping center and across the street from Tocoi Creek High School.
The area is also the proposed site of a Walmart Supercenter.
