The Goddard School, a private early childhood education provider, announced Feb. 18 it opened The Goddard School of Nocatee.
The school is at 55 Colonnade Drive, at Colonnade Drive and Preservation Trail and south of Nocatee Parkway in Ponte Vedra Beach.
It is the second Ponte Vedra Beach franchise for owner Liz Scott and her fourth in Northeast Florida, according to a news release.
The project cost is about $5 million, according to five St. Johns County building permits.
Jacksonville-based Tim Young Construction Inc. is the contractor.
The 15,000-square-foot school has 12 classrooms and can accommodate about 240 students, according to the release. It said it adds 40 teaching jobs. It features an indoor gymnasium, a STEAM room, an outdoor sport court, an outdoor learning classroom, an outdoor amphitheater and a turf athletic field alongside multiple playground structures.
Scott also owns The Goddard School of Ponte Vedra Beach, The Goddard School of Saint Johns (Julington Creek ) and The Goddard School of Jacksonville (Baymeadows/Gate Pkwy) in South Jacksonville.
“Our team is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing environment for our students where they will thrive and develop a lifelong love for learning,” Scott said in the release.
The school is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Goddard licenses more than 600 Goddard School franchises that serve more than 75,000 students in 37 states and Washington, D.C., according to Goddardschool.com.
It was founded in 1983 and began franchising in 1988.
