Indiana-based wholesale products distributor Eckart Supply is poised to expand into Northeast Florida with the help of a $67,500 public incentive that received final approval Feb. 11 from the Jacksonville City Council.
Council members voted 17-1 for Ordinance 2025-0063, which provides a Local Targeted Industry Employment Grant to Eckart. Member Rory Diamond cast the no vote and member Will Lahnen was not present for the vote after receiving an excused absence from the early portion of the meeting.
The incentive provides $1,500 of each of 45 new jobs that Eckart has committed to creating through the expansion. According to an economic development agreement between the city and Eckart, the average annual salary for the new jobs will be $79,960.
A staff summary of the incentives request stated that Eckart LLC plans to invest $1 million over two years on build-out of a 150,000-square-foot building at 5400 W. 12th St.
Eckart distributes electrical, lighting, plumbing, HVAC and data communication products. Based in Corydon, Indiana, the company employs 385 people.
