AdventHealth bought portions of three St. Johns County properties in World Commerce Center on Feb. 5 for $13.14 million.

World Commerce Center LLP of Jacksonville sold the properties to Advent Health through Advent Health Palm Coast Parkway Inc.

World Commerce Center is a Development of Regional Impact that comprises nearly 1,000 acres off Interstate 95 and World Golf Parkway down to State Road 16.

Land there can be used for residential, office, medical, retail, warehouse and hotel developments, according to its website. It is owned by Steinemann & Co. Real Estate of Jacksonville.

The deed did not specify how much acreage AdventHealth purchased or the exact location of the property.

The three parcels are at the south end of World Commerce Center near the Parkway Village at St. Johns shopping center and across the street from Tocai Creek High School.

It is also the area where a Walmart Supercenter is proposed.

AdventHealth is headquartered in Altamonte Springs. It was founded in 1973 and reported revenue of $18 billion in 2023. It has facilities in nine states. It is a nonprofit Seventh-Day Adventist organization and the largest not-for-profit Protestant health care provider in the country.

Its Florida locations are mainly in Central Florida stretching north and east from Port Orange on the Atlantic Ocean to North Pinellas to the Gulf of Mexico and south to Sebring.

It operates 51 hospitals and several hundred care sites, according to its website.

In September, AdventHealth announced it was constructing a 12-bed off-site emergency department in St. Johns County that is set to open in 2026.

The 10.75-acre site is on north Florida 207 south of San Juan Road in St. Augustine. It is about 1.6 miles northeast of Interstate 95.

AdventHealth has had facilities in Flagler County for more than 20 years. It invested more than $200 million in its healthcare infrastructure in Flagler County in 2023.
