The Jacksonville Jaguars continue to remake its leadership, naming Tony Boselli the team’s executive vice president of football operations Feb. 3.
The team said Boselli will report to Jaguars owner Shad Khan along with new head coach Liam Coen and the team’s general manager when that hire is made.
Boselli, who played offensive tackle, was the Jaguars’ first draft selection in 1995 and a member of the 2022 class of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The Jaguars said Coen, Boselli and the future GM hire will form a football leadership unit that will “collaborate and align on all major football decisions, develop a long-term strategy for sustainable on-field success, and provide counsel to the team owner.”
“Few people have better relationships throughout the NFL, know the game, and understand the value of strong team identity and culture as well as Tony Boselli,” Khan said in a news release. “Tony has a wealth of football acumen that we respect and need, and his counsel will be tremendously valuable to me and our football leadership team during this current rebirth and for many seasons to come.”
Boselli also will be responsible for player engagement, football technology, football travel and logistics, equipment, sports performance, team security and football communications.
Boselli will serve as the liaison between football operations and the business side of the Jaguars to ensure a unified and successful organization as a whole.
“My passion for this team, these fans and this city has defined my football life, to the point it is now engrained in my family’s legacy,” Boselli said in the release. “Today, that relationship has evolved to include this exciting opportunity, and I find my emotions remarkably similar to what I felt upon being drafted as a Jacksonville Jaguar in 1995.
“I am so excited and deeply humbled to work with and alongside Shad Khan, the Khan Family, Liam Coen, our new general manager and the entire Jaguars front office. We will come together to build a lasting foundation and winning tradition that Jaguars fans will be proud of.”
Boselli was a five-time Pro Bowl selection (1996-2000) and three-time All-Pro (1997-99). He started 90 of 91 career games as well as six playoff games from 1995-2001.
Boselli, who played seven seasons in the NFL, was the first Jaguars player to be inducted into the team’s Pride of the Jaguars.
Boselli has been under contract with the Jaguars over many years, serving as a game day radio analyst and frequent contributor to Jaguars.com, in addition to representing the team as an NFL Legends ambassador and throughout the community.
Boselli also served as the lead analyst for Thursday Night Football for the Westwood One radio network and worked as an NFL game analyst and sideline reporter for Westwood One.
Boselli received a business degree from the University of Southern California, achieving Academic All-American while he played football. He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.
The Jaguars have been remaking their front office, with former head coach Doug Pederson and GM Trent Baalke leaving the organization after the team went 4-13 in the 2024 season.
Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Coen was named head coach Jan. 24.
