An Orange Park Burger King is in review for upgrades.

Clay County is reviewing a permit application to renovate the fast-food restaurant at 2297 Kingsley Ave., northeast of Kingsley Avenue and Blanding Boulevard.

It is owned by Burger King Company LLC, based in Miami.

The project includes remodeling the building and making site improvements for ADA-compliant parking and sidewalks, landscaping upgrades and a reduction in impervious surfaces.

Stokes Consulting LLC of Tampa is listed as the consultant and applicant.

County records show the store is about 23 years old.

In Duval County, Burger King locations also are being upgraded. Projects include renovations in North Jacksonville and the demolition and reconstruction of a location on North Main Street near Springfield.

The restaurant at 2717 N. Main St. is between East 17th and 18th streets, just south of Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway. Duval County property records show that the 2,551-square-foot fast-food and drive-thru restaurant was built in 1966.

For the 51-year-old North Jacksonville location, JEA issued a service availability letter March 13 for the remodeling of the restaurant at 937 Dunn Ave., at northwest Dunn Avenue and Regency Drive, west of Interstate 95.

A JEA letter does not mean a development will take place, just that one is being explored.
