About two years after announcing on social media it planned to open in Yulee, Bohemian Bull Tavern and Beer Garden is prepping taps and preparing staff for a late April opening.
“We are exceptionally close to getting open, and it has been a long and arduous road, but there is light at the end of the tunnel,” franchisee Justin de Boer said in an email April 3.
He said the restaurant has completed and passed all of its building inspections and is working on fire marshal approval of its certificate of occupancy.
“If all goes according to plan we will be training employees next week and opening the doors the following week,” de Boer said.
Jacksonville-based Brink Construction Group is the contractor.
Nassau County issued permits, including build-out, plumbing and electrical, July 1. According to county staff, the restaurant opted for independent inspections required before the certificate of occupancy.
The restaurant, the chain’s first in Florida, is in the Publix-anchored Crossings at Wildlight shopping center at 76010-1 William Burgess Blvd. off Florida 200. It originally announced it planned to open there in May 2024.
Bohemian Bull was founded in 2013 on James Island in Charleston, South Carolina. Others followed in Greenville, Maudlin, Mount Pleasant and Murrells Inlet.
A location in Pelham Commons, a business center in Greenville, is expected to open this spring. There is one in Grapevine, Texas, and another in Spring, a suburb of Houston.

Appetizers on its menu include truffle fries, fried okra, deviled eggs and a beer garden pretzel. Lunch and dinner options include wings, tenders, salads, burgers and sandwiches, as well as entrées like a shrimp platter, fish and chips, steak frites and a burrito bowl.
