The Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association meets for lunch at 11:45 a.m. Oct. 10 at The River Club, 1 Independent Drive.

The guest speaker is attorney, former law professor and philanthropist Kristine Cherek, author of the Amazon bestseller “Tread Loudly: Call Out the Bullsh*t and Fight for Equality in the Workplace.”

Cherek will talk about the experiences, inequities and obstacles she encountered in her 20-year career as an associate attorney at a large national law firm, as the general counsel of a national corporation, as a partner of a regional law firm and as a law professor. She also will discuss biases, inequities and lack of gender parity that continue to exist in the legal field and in corporate America.
