AdventHealth to build ER in St. Johns County

The 12-bed facility along Florida 207 will open in 2026.

AdventHealth will begin construction of a 12-bed off-site emergency department in St. Johns County in 2025, it announced in a Sept. 24 news release.

The project will open in 2026.

The site is on 10.75 acres on north Florida 207 south of San Juan Road in St. Augustine. It is about 1.6 miles northeast of Interstate 95.

AdventHealth plans to build an ER in St. Johns County.

AdventHealth bought two vacant commercial lots there totalling 11.04 acres for $5.7 million in August.

“Our new facility will give residents and visitors greater access to emergency medical care close to home,” said Audrey Gregory, executive vice president and CEO of the AdventHealth East Florida Division, in the release.

“As an organization, AdventHealth has robust expansion plans, and this latest step forward is an important part of our organization’s long-term vision for growth and our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.”

AdventHealth is based in Altamonte Springs. It is a national, faith-based health care company that has more than 50 hospitals in about a dozen states.

AdventHealth has had facilities in Flagler County for more than 20 years.

AdventHealth Palm Coast bought two vacant commercial lots in St. Johns for $5.7 million on Aug. 2.

Last year AdventHealth invested more than $200 million in its health care infrastructure in Flagler County.
