Ford’s Garage is gearing up for a potential new location in the master-planned Beachwalk community that would be its second establishment in St. Johns County.

The site is at 87 Beachwalk Blvd. off County Road 210.

It is 3 miles east of Interstate 95, near a BJ’s Wholesale Club under construction.

A service availability request for the location, submitted to JEA on Sept. 12, proposes 282 seats.

The first area Ford’s Garage opened Sept. 2020 in the former Gander Mountain building at the St. Augustine Outlets, now Bozard Ford Lincoln.

The land for the Beachwalk site is owned by Boca Raton Twin Creeks SPE LLC. Prosser Inc. of Jacksonville is the project engineer and LevelUp Consulting of Tampa is handling the service request.

It does not have a permit application to build in review with the county.

According the Ford’s Garage website, the restaurant embraces a nostalgic ambiance reminiscent of a 1920s service station.

Its decor features vintage Ford vehicles, antique gas pumps, and period fixtures, enhancing the “Prohibition-style” atmosphere. The menu offers a variety of options, including Black Angus beef, meatloaf, chili, macaroni and cheese, as well as salads and grilled chicken and fish. Beverage offerings include craft, draft and bottled beers, wine, cocktails and nonalcoholic drinks.

Ford’s Garage first opened its doors in historic downtown Fort Myers in 2012, not far from Henry Ford’s winter residence.

There are 31 Ford’s Garage locations, including one each in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, New York, Texas and Virginia. There are two in Ohio and 21 in Florida.
