The Jacksonville Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society has two community engagement events in September.

A free webinar previewing the upcoming U.S. Supreme Court term will be presented at noon Sept. 16.

Lawson

Panelists include Deepak Gupta, founding principal of Washington, D.C., law firm Gupta Wessler; Sarah Harris, a partner at Williams & Connolly in Washington, D.C.; and state Solicitor General Henry Whitaker.

The court has agreed to hear 28 cases during its 2024-2025 term and has scheduled 16 cases for argument beginning Oct. 7.

Francis

The Jacksonville Lawyers Chapter and Lawson Huck Gonzalez will present “Perspective on the Florida Supreme Court: A fireside chat with Justice. Renatha Francis and former Justice Alan Lawson” at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at The River Club, 1 Independent Drive.

Lawson is a founding partner at Lawson Huck Gonzalez in Orlando.
