Furniture Source intends to open its fourth Jacksonville location by Oct. 15, choosing the East Arlington space vacated by Earth Fare in the Atlantic North shopping center.

The site is at 11901 Atlantic Blvd., Space 250, at northwest Atlantic and Kernan boulevards.

Will Said, one of the owners, said by email Sept. 7 that Furniture Source opened its first store in a 3,000-square-foot space on the lower level in The Avenues mall near Belk.

According to Said, Furniture Source also is expanding into The Florida Mall in Orlando.

He said Furniture Source has more than 30 employees and plans to hire five to seven for the Atlantic North store, which is at northwest Atlantic and Kernan boulevards.

“We chose the location because it is a growing neighborhood that doesn’t have a local furniture store,” Said wrote in an email.

According to Said, Furniture Source carries name brands such as Tempur-Pedic and Ashley Furniture.

Furniture Source has locations in the former Sears store in The Avenues mall, at St. Johns Town Center and at 3752 Blanding Blvd. in the Cedar Hills area of West Jacksonville.

Simon Property Group is the landlord for The Avenues, Town Center and Florida Mall.

FurnitureSourceFl.com says it is a Florida-based retailer with roots back to the 1970s when it opened its first store in Chicago. It began in 1974 as Said Furniture.

The site says the company opened its first Florida location in 2017 and changed its name.

It sells living room, bedroom, dining room and home office furniture along with home entertainment and home accent items and mattresses.

Some of the other brands include Amani, Casper, Coaster, Malouf, Salt Flat and Weekender.

Earth Fare, a natural and organic grocer, closed in February 2020.
