Jacksonville-based Fidelity National Information Services Inc., or FIS, said Oct. 18 it is teaming with Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan to open an innovation space and technology hub connected to Khan’s London soccer team.

Khan bought Fulham FC, which plays in the British Premier League, in 2013 after buying the Jaguars in 2012.

Just as Khan is developing properties adjacent to the Jaguars’ EverBank Stadium, he is developing an entertainment destination called Fulham Pier next to the soccer team’s London stadium along the Thames River. The venue is planned to open in summer 2025.

FIS and Fulham said the new hub called Markers is intended as a center for business leaders to hold industry events and provide a space for collaboration.

“The Markers, presented by FIS suite, will serve as a cutting-edge technology incubator, fostering a culture of innovation that is expected to make Fulham Pier one of the most coveted destinations in West London,” Fulham CEO Alistair Mackintosh said in a news release.

FIS is a financial technology company.

“London’s rich history in financial services, technology, and emerging fintech start-ups makes it the perfect place for us to set up our newest innovation centre and add to our vast footprint in this key financial market,” FIS Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Ellyn Raftery said in the release.

The announcement coincided with the Jaguars annual trip to play two games in London, but FIS and Fulham did not mention any ties to the football team in their joint news release.
