Nassau Pickleball 365, a covered pickleball facility with eight courts, is building-out in Yulee.
It is expected to open in late 2024 at a project cost of $3.25 million, according to county documents.
Nassau Pickleball 365 is at 86365 Koen Lane, off U.S. 17 about 3 miles east of the Wildlight master-planned community.
Gillette & Associates Inc. of Amelia Island is the civil engineer. The owners are Shelly and Bruce Duncan.
“A couple of years ago, we started daydreaming (perhaps obsessing) about building a pickleball facility in Nassau County to satisfy the demand for more courts. We finally found 2 acres in Yulee and are now getting into the design and build phase,” Shelly Duncan said on the company’s website.
According to a Oct. 14 news release, Nassau Pickleball 365 said its courts will be covered from rain, debris and the sun, and each court will be individually fenced. The clubhouse will feature a small merchandise nook to sell paddles and accessories. There will be a player patio, kitchenette with coffee and a food truck berth.
The site plan shows 49 parking spaces.
A limited number of memberships will be offered, enabling players to make court reservations and pay reduced rates for events and programming. Non-members can participate in all the events at rates comparable to other activities.
Hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
