Chad Patrick has returned as CEO at HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital, where he served in the role from 2013 to 2019, the health care system announced Oct. 15.
He left that position to become CEO of the HCA Healthcare Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina, according to a news release.
While there, he oversaw the construction a patient tower, a mental health and wellness center and a burn and wound center.
During his four years at the Orange Park hospital, Patrick was in charge of opening a heart and lung center, expanding the main emergency room facility and opening several freestanding emergency departments, the release said.
He also led the development of an inpatient rehabilitation center, construction of a 42-bed patient tower and creation of the Graduate Medical Education program.
“Chad’s proven track record in hospital leadership, commitment to patients, colleagues and community will be instrumental as we continue to enhance our services to provide quality care for our community,” Hugh Tappan, president of HCA Healthcare’s South Atlantic Division, said in the release.
Before joining HCA Healthcare, Patrick held executive roles, including Division President for RegionalCare Hospital Partners in Brentwood, Tennessee, and CEO of Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville, Kentucky.
He began his career as a respiratory therapist before moving into hospital administration.
Patrick has a master’s in health care administration from the University of Central Florida and a bachelor’s in respiratory therapy from Ohio State University.
