The closed Country Cabin Restaurant in North Jacksonville will become Charleys Wings and Cheesesteaks now that the city issued a permit Oct. 7 for the conversion.
The site is at 1401 Dunn Ave., west of Interstate 95 in The Shopping Place center.
WB Residential Solutions LLC of Cocoa is the contractor for the 2,929-square-foot project at a project cost of $350,000.
The permit is for new tenant alterations to the existing restaurant, including adding a drive-thru window and for architectural, electrical, mechanical and plumbing work.
Plans show 48 seats.
Building documents refer to Pettry Renovations of Kissimmee and business operator Saint Anthony of Orlando LLC to open Charley’s Philly Steaks at the site.
A Colliers real estate brochure for leasing at The Shopping Place at 1403 Dunn Ave. shows Charleys Philly Steaks in the stand-alone corner building fronting Dunn Avenue.
The center and restaurant were built in 1987, Duval County Property Appraiser records show.
The 54,512-square-foot open-air shopping center is anchored by national and regional tenants including Total Wireless, Value Pawn and Beauty Exchange.
Colliers Senior Vice President Matthew Clark and Senior Associates Sam Middlekauff and Olivia Steinemann are the leasing agents for the landlord.
Charleys.com shows seven area locations in three Walmarts; in The Avenues mall and Orange Park Mall; along San Jose Boulevard near Old St. Augustine Road; and in Jacksonville Beach.
The menu includes cheesesteaks and wings as well as sides, shakes, drinks, kids meals, catering and party trays along with 12 types of sauces and rubs.
The variety includes Philly, old school, chicken, bacon, Italiano, pepperoni and veggie.
