The city issued a permit Oct. 2 for construction of a 125-room, five-story Home2 Suites by Hilton hotel at 3609 San Pablo Parkway, not far from Mayo Clinic in Florida.
Kellogg & Kimsey Inc. of Sarasota is the contractor for the $17.5 million project on 1.72 acres. HC Architecture of Atlanta is the architect of the almost 76,000-square-foot hotel.
Home2 Suites offers limited-service breakfast, meeting rooms, a fitness room, pool and deck, among other amenities.
The hotel site is where San Pablo Parkway splits with San Pablo Road South.
Atlanta-based Hotel Development Partners, through HDP Ventures LLC, is the developer.
Through IRE San Pablo LLC, the hotel group bought the site March 1, 2023, for $2.6 million from San Pablo Road III LLC, which is affiliated with Trevato Development Group of Jacksonville Beach.
Hotel Development Partners opened the 155-suite Residence Inn by Marriott Jacksonville near Mayo Clinic in 2021. It is managed by Concord Hospitality Enterprises.
Mayo Clinic is at 4500 San Pablo Road S.
Five Home2 Suites are open in Northeast Florida.
The latest opened April 5, 2024, in the Brooklyn area of Downtown. The others are near Jacksonville International Airport; along Deerwood Park Boulevard near St. Johns Town Center; in Fernandina Beach; and along Interstate 95 in St. Augustine.
