St. Johns Town Center, the shopping heart of Northeast Florida, continues to evolve as stores and restaurants move in or find different spaces.
Simon Property Group of Indianapolis is the landlord of the center, which anchors northwest Butler Boulevard and Interstate 295. Simon has been regrouping retailers to appeal to shoppers in similar target markets.
The stores are not all that is changing. Almost 20 years after Town Center opened, Simon is replacing four main entry signs that have greeted visitors since the center launched its first phase of shopping in 2005. Here’s a look at some of the changes over the past year:
Canadian fashion retailer Aritzia opened in July at 4663 River City Drive, Suite 101, near Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Aritzia sells clothing, shoes, accessories and gifts.
It says the shop includes “meticulously designed features including house-created playlists, thoughtfully curated paintings and artwork, elevated natural materials like textured brick arches, and vintage furniture sourced from Scandinavia, Italy, and France.”
White House Black Market is open at 4751 River City Drive, Suite 107.
Aritzia and White House Black Market are filling space vacated by Loft and J. Crew, which moved to new storefronts.
Loft moved to 4790 River City Drive, Unit 113, after occupying a temporary space.
The women’s apparel retailer is in the space that was previously Bath & Body Works, which moved to 4791 River City Drive, No. 113.
Clothing retailer J. Crew moved to 4751 River City Drive, Space 125, next to Fabletics.
It is the former Altar’d State space, which moved into a larger store at 4712 River City Drive, No. 131.
Boss, a Germany-based clothing company, is open at 4813 River City Drive, No. 107, between Coach and Psycho Bunny.
It is in the former Peloton space. Hugo Boss split its brand. Boss offers casual styles and “Athleisure” wear.
Breitling 1884 is open at 4751 River City Drive, Space 143-A, an end space next to Levi’s and across a side street from Urban Outfitters.
Founded in 1884, the Breitling watchmaker is based in Geneva, Switzerland.
Shake Shack opened in September at 10281 Midtown Parkway, Unit 101, in the fomer M Shack space.
New-York based Shake Shack serves burgers, hot dogs, crinkle-cut fries, shakes, frozen custard and drinks.
Women’s clothing retailer Evereve is open at 4812 River City Drive, Unit 113.
It took the space of Lululemon, which moved to a larger space at 4791 River City Drive, No. 143.
New York City-based Gregorys Coffee is open at 10281 Midtown Parkway in the former Starbucks shop across from Maggiano’s Little Italy.
The company has grown from 36 stores to 49 in 2024.
Relax in Comfort is open at 4818 River City Drive, Unit 105, in the Nordstrom courtyard.
Relax In Comfort sells adjustable smart beds, massage beds and zero gravity recliners.
It is next to Lovesac, which moved across the courtyard to make way for a Louis Vuitton expansion.
Maryland-based Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls opened in October at 4668 Town Crossing Drive, Suite 105, in the former Tossgreen space near Lenscrafters and Fidelity Investments.
The 118-room AC Hotel Jacksonville St Johns Town Center opened in March.
The four-story, 71,700-square-foot hotel at 5323 Big Island Drive includes meeting space, a fitness center and an outdoor pool. It is near RH.
Chanel opened its fragrance and beauty boutique in July at 4663 River City Drive, Suite 149.
Chanel is in the former Steve Madden space next to MAC Cosmetics.
Garage, a women’s fashion retailer, opened at 4790 River City Drive, No. 137, between Pink and MAC Cosmetics.
