Dutch Bros Coffee announced it will open its first Jacksonville shop Nov. 22.
The drive-thru is at 5733 Roosevelt Blvd. near Winn-Dixie. It had been a Larry’s Giant Subs, which was demolished.
Besides specialty coffee, it sells its Dutch Bros Rebel energy drink and Nitro Cold Brew coffee. The menu includes smoothies, freezes, nitrogen-infused cold brews, teas, lemonades and soft drinks. It serves a limited number of pastries. There is no on-site cooking.
The shop is open 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, the company said in a Nov. 19 news release.
The Jacksonville store is on 0.58 acre. The company purchased the property from Venetia Village LLC of Jacksonville in January for $1.05 million.
The city issued a permit Jan. 22 for Ganaway Contracting of Roswell, Georgia, to build a 950-square-foot shop at a project cost of $450,000.
The Grants Pass, Oregon-based drive-thru coffee company announced in 2023 its intentions to enter Northeast Florida.
The first area Dutch Bros opened in August at 50 McCoy Way in St. Augustine, about a half-mile north of a Publix at the Shoppes at Palencia Commons.
After the Roosevelt Boulevard store, a shop at 7720 Argyle Forest Blvd. is expected to open next.
Other locations will be in Elevation Pointe in St. Johns County and in Duval County at the Shops at Race Track Rd; Point Meadows along Baymeadows Road; at northeast San Jose Boulevard, Loretto Road in Mandarin and at 7952 Normandy Blvd. in West Jacksonville.
Dutch Bros started in 1992 and it became a public company in 2021 with the formation of Dutch Bros Inc. It is listed as BROS on the New York Stock Exchange.
It has more than 950 stores around the country in 18 states.
