Ascension St. Vincent’s is expanding its spinal and brain surgery practices into Clay County.

The hospital has gathered a team of brain and spine surgeons from across the U.S. to bring the specialized care to the Clay County area, according to a Nov. 19 news release.

“St. Vincent’s is a leader in neurosurgery and this expansion allows our patients to receive this advanced spine care where they live,” said Bryan Walrath, president and CEO of Ascension St. Vincent’s Clay County.

“This supports our commitment to delivering compassionate, personalized care to patients in the greater Clay County community.”

Areas of treatment include minimally-invasive and complex spine surgery; craniotomy for tumor resection; stereotactic radiosurgery, a non-invasive radiation therapy; and surgery for treatment of chronic pain.

“This will significantly improve the lives of those suffering from complex spine conditions and help St. Vincent’s provide more comprehensive care across Northeast Florida,” Dr. Endrit Ziu, a neurosurgeon with St. Vincent’s, said in the release.

The hospital is at 1670 St. Vincents Way in Middleburg.
