As part of the overall improvements to the park, Pond & Company designed the flexible performance pavilion and changing stations that captured the Vilano “vibe” with curved structure and lightweight, flow-through design to harmonize with the existing park structures
Size: Site area: 2.25 acres; building area: 1,700 square feet
Cost: $1.26 million
Completed: July 17, 2024
Architect: Pond & Company
Contractor: E.B. Morris General Contractors Inc., Ponte Vedra Beach
Additional vendors: Matthews | DCCM and Haddad Engineering
St. Johns County Parks and Recreation; Matthews | DCCM
The performance pavilion uses pivoting wall panels to allow view and breeze through most of the time, but can swing to create a sound reflecting backwall during performances, protecting the quiet of the adjacent neighborhood.
