Khalil Farah presented a scholarship to Lindsay Landais, a student at Ed White High School.

Landais received the award from the Farah & Farah law firm after writing an essay about moving from Haiti to the U.S. and learning English.

Landais will be the first person in her family to attend college, where she plans to major in nursing with a minor in psychology.

Each year, the firm selects recipients of the Empowering Greatness Scholarship based on student applicants’ financial considerations, academic performance, community engagement and essays.

Each winner receives a $6,000 scholarship that can be used for tuition, registration and local fees for 60 lower-division credit hours at any public college or university in Florida.
