Chick-fil-A continues building, renovating and redeveloping its Northeast Florida restaurants.
In OakLeaf Town Center, the city issued a permit May 21 for Horizon Construction Co. of Alpharetta, Georgia, to remodel and enlarge Chick-fil-A’s store at 9630 Applecross Road in Southwest Jacksonville.
The $1.1 million project comprises a brand image, a 437-square-foot expansion with renovations, an additional drive-thru lane with a canopy, and modifications to the parking, pedestrian access, landscape, drainage, utilities and lighting.
The 4,227-square-foot building will be expanded to 4,664 square feet.
The almost 1.11-acre site is on the north side of Argyle Forest Boulevard between Merchants Way and Old Middleburg Road.
Property records show the restaurant was built in 2008.
CPH Inc. of Sanford is shown as the architect and the civil, electrical, structural and mechanical engineer.
Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A has been active throughout the market, including work at Roosevelt Boulevard, Ortega Park, Tinseltown, Queen’s Harbour, Atlantic North and Mandarin. It also wants to build in North Jacksonville where residents of the North Creek neighborhood oppose the plans.
