Breeze Homes of Jacksonville announced May 16 that Matt Devereaux has been appointed managing partner.
Breeze Homes is the residential building division of Corner Lot Development Group.
Devereaux is a 22-year homebuilder. He was regional vice president at Lennar Homes, where he grew the Northeast Florida division from 350 homes in 2014 to more than 2,400 in 2022. Lennar increased its market share from 5% to 20%, Corner Lot said in a news release.
Devereaux has served on the Northeast Florida Builders Association board of directors.
“Matt’s extensive knowledge and proven leadership skills make him an awesome addition to our team. He’s the perfect partner to push Breeze to the next level,” Corner Lot CEO Andy Allen said in the release.
“His deep industry ties and innovative thinking will play a pivotal role in our ongoing efforts to provide exceptional service and value to our customers,” Corner Lot COO George Leone said.
Breeze Homes communities comprise Harts Ridge, Johnson Commons, Ellis Station, Kings Landing and Walker’s Ridge. The company also built 11 sold-out communities.
Devereaux is from a family of homebuilders. His grandfather was a master carpenter and opened his own homebuilding company. The younger Devereaux worked jobs in the industry before attending Florida SouthWestern State College and Florida State University.
Devereaux began his career at U.S. Home Corp., which Lennar bought in 2001. He became vice president of sales in Southwest Florida in 2004. The next year he was promoted to director of operations.
In 2014, he became division president for Lennar. This brought Devereaux, his wife, Lauren, and their four children to Jacksonville.
He became regional director of operations in 2022 before becoming regional vice president in January 2023.
“I look forward to leveraging my experience and expertise to contribute to the company’s continued success and expansion,” Devereaux said of joining Breeze Homes.
