Jacksonville-based GreenPointe Holdings announced May 14 it named Grady Miars for the newly created positions of president and chief operating officer.
He served as president of GreenPointe Developers, the master-plan community and urban development division of GreenPointe Holdings, since 2010.
GreenPointe Holdings develops master-planned communities. The holding company developed the area master-planned communities of Amelia Walk and Tributary in Nassau County; Granary Park, GreyHawk and Hyland Trail in Clay County; and TrailMark in St. Johns County.
“Grady has been an esteemed member of our management team and his contributions have been vital to GreenPointe’s growth and expansion,” Ed Burr, company chairman and CEO, said in a news release.
“His vision, leadership and dedication to GreenPointe and the industry will further strengthen our position as one of the Southeast’s leading land and community development firms.”
Miars will oversee long-term operational planning and procedures, prepare goals for corporate growth and performance, monitor company finances and the daily operation of the company and executive branch.
He has been involved in the development of 35 master-planned communities, 13 golf courses and more than $2 billion in land and sales revenue, the release said.
Before joining GreenPointe, Miars was regional vice president for Crescent/LandMar Group and vice president/general manager for The Bonita Bay Group.
Miars has a master’s degree in business administration and finance from Florida Gulf Coast University Lutgert College of Business and a bachelor’s degree in economics and environmental studies from Rollins College.
