J. Crew building-out new location at St. Johns Town Center

The clothing retailer and Loft both moved for Canadian retailer Aritzia to open in the Jacksonville market.

The city issued a permit March 15 for clothing retailer J. Crew to build-out at the former Altar’d State store at St. Johns Town Center at a project cost of $903,832.

J. Crew is moving to 4751 River City Drive, Space 125. US Construction Group of Mullica Hill, New Jersey, is the contractor for the 5,117-square-foot space.

Altar’d State moved into a larger store at 4712 River City Drive, No. 131.

J. Crew and Loft, which sells women’s clothing, are moving to make way for Aritzia, which is building-out at 4751 River City Drive, No. 101.

Loft is moving into 4790 River City Drive, No. 133, the previous Bath & Body Works, which relocated to the former Microsoft store.  Aritzia sells clothing, shoes, accessories and gifts. It started in 1984 inside the Hill family’s department store in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and then Brian Hill opened the first stand-alone boutique in a Vancouver mall.

Simon Property Group, the landlord of the South Jacksonville shopping center, has been repositioning retailers in St. Johns Town Center to be near other stores with similar target markets.

New York City-based J. Crew Group is an apparel and accessories retailer for men, women and children. 

J. Crew Group has J. Crew and Madewell clothing stores in St. Johns Town Center and built-out a J. Crew Factory store at 4866 Big Island Drive in The Markets at Town Center.
