Duval County hotel room revenue for May of more than $50.5 million set a record for the month, according to a Visit Jacksonville report released June 20.

The $50,535,999 total surpassed the record set in May 2023 by $1,179,000.

The May occupancy rate of 71.4% was up 3% from the same time last year, driven by transient occupancy – leisure tourists and individual business travelers – which was up by 9.4%.

The data is from STR, a company that offers analytics and marketplace information about the hospitality industry.

Three of the six areas in the county reported overall growth, with Downtown hotels showing the most significant revenue per room increase, likely driven by two weekends of concerts at EverBank Stadium and other events.

Country stars George Strait performed at EverBank Stadium May 11 and Luke Combs performed May 3-4.

While most areas of town are reporting year-to-date losses across all metrics, despite the record revenue in May, Arlington hotels are showing a slight increase in occupancy.
