World of Beer Bar & Kitchen scheduled its “grand re-opening” at 11 a.m. July 16 at Butler Boulevard and Bonneval Road, off of Interstate 95.
Franchise owner Jay Patel is leasing a former World of Beer site at 5105 Butler Blvd. in Liberty Center, which is owned by Jacksonville-based Hakimian Holdings.
The restaurant also is addressed as 7077 Bonneval Road, which is in the Southpoint area.
Hours are posted to start at 11 a.m. daily, closing at 11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and midnight Friday-Saturday.
Patel said previously he has hired 60 people. He intended to use the furniture that remained in the restaurant.
Patel said July 15 that World of Beer will open with beer and wine while a full liquor license is pending.
A site plan shows 227 indoor and patio seats at the 5,625-square-foot building.
The WOB Bar & Kitchen - Southpoint Facebook page says the 5,625-square-foot restaurant "will feature two Topgolf Swing Suites, an unparalleled collection of more than 300 different and unique beers in massive coolers and 40 rotating taps, offering beer enthusiasts & guests one of the largest beer selections in the city!"
“We’ve always felt Jacksonville is a fantastic and vibrant city,” said a March 22 statement provided by World of Beer Bar & Kitchen.
The location operated as World of Beer from May 2022 to May 2023, which was the concept’s second run at success in Jacksonville.
The name had remained on the World of Beer building with the furniture stacked inside.
The World of Beer included the two Topgolf Swing Suites with a lounge with multiple virtual games as well as food and beverage service from WOB Bar & Kitchen.
Organizational problems within the former franchise group caused the closing of the World of Beer Bar & Kitchen at the end of business May 7, 2023, after almost a year.
That had been the second run at the beer-focused establishment in Jacksonville.
Another franchisee opened two restaurants beginning in 2013 and were closed 2016. Those were in Tinseltown and Jacksonville Beach.
The website for the Jacksonville Southpoint location shows beer, wine and food menus.
The food menu includes a German pretzel, wings, quesadilla, flatbreads, bowls, salads, burgers, tacos, sandwiches, sides and soups.
Burgers start at $12.75; bowls and handhelds at $14.95; flatbreads at $11.95; salads at $9; and entrees at $16.95.
The extensive beer menu ranges from $4 to $16, with one ranging up to $17.50 for a 25-ounce draft.
Wine ranges from $8 to $14 a glass.
WorldofBeer.com shows 16 World of Beer locations in Florida.
WOBFranchising.com says two friends created Tampa-based World of Beer in 2007.
It says its product manager rotate taps daily based on customer preference. “With 350+ Beers from 40 different countries, the quantity and diversity in our beer offering is unmatched,” it says.
