Former Florida Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera seeks a construction permit for Building 200 at Airport Industrial Park East in North Jacksonville at an estimated project cost of almost $8.86 million.
The project is called JAX Airport Logistics Center on a marketing brochure by the Colliers real estate firm, which handles leasing for the project.
Jax Industrial Three Ltd., a Coral Gables group led by Lopez-Cantera, filed a construction permit application for the 225,000-square-foot shell warehouse at 14825 International Blvd., a 30.18-acre industrial park
ARCO Design/Build is the contractor. GAI Consultants is the consultant and PQH Group is the architect.
A permit application is expected to be submitted for the 200,000-square-foot Building 100 at a project cost of $8.15 million.
The city issued a site-clearing permit Feb. 16 for the park at a project cost of $402,000.
The site is east of Jacksonville International Airport and west of Interstate 95, about 1 mile south of Pecan Road.
The property has been used for timber.
Jax Industrial Three Ltd. paid almost $2.55 million for the site Oct. 14, 2022. Prudential Enterprises Inc. sold it.
The project is prepared for Pan American Companies Inc., led by Lopez-Cantera.
Colliers Senior Associate Seda Preston and associate Jack Heed of Colliers represent the project. The brochure says it is within the boundary of the Northwest Jacksonville Economic Development Fund boundary.
Flexible suites start at 50,000 square feet. Pre-leasing has begun.
Lopez-Cantera’s first area center is Lane Industrial Park at northwest Lane Avenue and 12th Street in Northwest Jacksonville. Lane Industrial Park is designed for two 160,000-square-foot warehouses.
The other is Dundas Industrial Park, three buildings that total 138,313 square at 440 Dundas Drive in Busch Drive Business Park in North Jacksonville.
Former Gov. Rick Scott appointed Lopez-Cantera as lieutenant governor in January 2014, succeeding Jennifer Carroll, who resigned the position in 2013. Voters elected Lopez-Cantera to a full term with Scott in November 2014.
