The Jacksonville Aviation Authority tentatively expects a ribbon-cutting Feb. 28 for Angie’s Subs at Jacksonville International Airport.
Authority Marketing & Public Relations Manager Greg Willis said Jan. 21 that he expects HMSHost will operate the Angie’s Subs space with limited hours for a week or two before then to train staff.
HMSHost operates most of the dining areas at the airport with Lee Wesley Group. Host-Lee JAX FB LLC of Bethesda, Maryland, registered the name Angie’s Subs (Concourse A) with the state Jan. 17.
The city issued a permit Oct. 13 for Jacksonville-based Auld & White Constructors LLC to build-out Angie’s Subs in 800 square feet of space on Concourse A post-security at a project cost of $426,800.
The JAA has said Jacksonville Beach-based Angie’s Subs will open a quick-service restaurant in early 2024 with a limited menu of about 10 of its most popular subs, including its signature, The Peruvian, made with ham, salami, bacon, Italian sausage, provolone cheese and Angie’s Peruvian sauce.
The restaurant will have a grab-and-go section with cold subs and salads, as well as bottles of hot sauce and Peruvian sauce for sale. It also will have breakfast items.
An artist’s rendering of Angie’s Subs at the airport features a beach theme with surfboards. The original Angie’s Subs is in Jacksonville Beach.
The authority is bringing more Northeast Florida flavor to the concessions at the airport at 2400 Yankee Clipper Drive in North Jacksonville.
