Drizly, which launched 1-hour alcohol delivery service in Jacksonville and St. Augustine in 2021, is shutting down.

“The dinosaurs. Malt liquor with caffeine in it. Drizly. Turns out, it’s true what they say...all good things must come to an end,” Drizly said in a Jan. 15 post on social media.

The company offers the delivery service in partnership with Shores Liquor in Northeast Florida and is continuing to operate for now.

Drizly said it is shutting down slowly, with orders open until the end of March.

“We’ll be sure to let you know when it’s last call,” it said.

Uber Technologies Inc. acquired Drizly in October 2021 for about $1.1 billion in stock and cash. Drizly was founded in 2012.

Drizly says it partners with thousands of retailers in more than 1,400 cities and is available to more than 100 million customers.

While Drizly is going away, booze delivery is not, now being offered by Uber Eats.

“You’ll probably feel at home at Uber Eats as the drink selection you know and love is available there,” it said.
